Odilbek Isakov
CEO and Managing DirectorOdilbek serves as the CEO and Managing Director at Finasia Capital Ltd, UK, leading corporate finance advisory firm focused on Uzbekistan and frontier markets. In his previous role as Deputy Minister of Finance in Uzbekistan from March 2019 to February 2023, he spearheaded the management of several key financial departments, initiated legal reforms, supported market liberalization, and attracted substantial financing for various projects, including the issuance of USD 2.6 billion Eurobonds. Odilbek played an instrumental role in pioneering the first-ever UZS 2.5 trillion SDG bond issuance in the CEEMEA region in 2021 and significantly expanded the local government bond market. With earlier experience at HSBC Bank plc, London, in Debt Capital Markets, Odilbek advised governments and corporates across the CEEMEA region, successfully executing deals raising over USD 115 billion. He holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and has completed an MSc in Finance at the University of Strathclyde, a BA (Hons) in Business Economics at Manchester Metropolitan University, and a Bachelor's degree in International Economic Relations at UWED, Uzbekistan.
Bobosher Sharipov
Senior DirectorBobosher Sharipov brings a wealth of experience in finance to his role as Senior Director at Finasia Capital. With a background that includes serving as Vice President at Jefferies Investment Bank in London, UK, specializing in Real Estate, Gaming, Lodging & Leisure M&A, and earlier roles at SFM Global and UBS Investment Bank, Bobosher has a proven track record in the industry. His expertise extends to valuation, business modeling, financial services audit, and asset management for UHNW individuals and Ernst and Young LLP. Bobosher holds a Chartered Accountancy Qualification from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and a BSc (Honors) in Economics and Business Finance from Brunel University. Fluent in English, Russian, Turkish, and Uzbek, he also has conversational proficiency in Kazakh and Azeri.
Otabek Isakov
Executive DirectorOtabek Isakov, as Executive Director, is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to promote the organisation's mission while managing the execution of tasks in a timely manner. His diverse experience includes roles at Moneff, a global fintech company, where he excelled as a Compliance Analyst and Onboarding Specialist, and at Safenetpay, a global payments provider, as an AML Transaction Monitoring Analyst. Otabek's expertise extends to credit monitoring, and he has worked at Kapital Bank, an open joint-stock commercial bank in Uzbekistan. Otabek earned his MSc in Marketing at Loughborough University's School of Business and Economics and holds a Bachelor of Banking from the Tashkent Institute of Finance. Fluent in English and proficient in Indonesian, Malay, and Uzbek, Otabek has also completed the ICA Advanced Certificate in Practical Customer Due Diligence with Distinction.
Marko Gucijan
ECA Senior AdvisorMarko Gucijan is a seasoned financial advisor with a remarkable career across various global financial roles. As the Head of Independent Corporate Finance Advisory, his focus on emerging markets includes providing financial advisory services, debt raising for capital expansion projects, and origination of off-market investment opportunities. Marko held pivotal roles at HSBC from 2010 to 2019, including Head of Wholesale Banking, Head of Global Specialised Finance Origination, and Head of Capital Financing. In 2015, one of his successful projects was awarded the title of "Best European/Eurasian ECA Finance Deal." He contributed as the Mandated Lead Arranger (MLA) and Due Diligence Agent for a EUR 557 million non-recourse project finance facility, which was supported by SACE, the Italian Export Credit Agency. The project was named the “Best Export Finance Deal of the Year".
Aziz Sodikov
Senior Associate
Aziz Sodikov serves as a Senior Associate at Finasia
Capital, where he leverages his extensive experience in debt
management and capital markets to advise clients on a range
of fundraising activities, including bond issuances, loan
agreements, and initial public offerings (IPOs). In his
previous role as Head of Capital Market Infrastructure,
Financial Products and Investor Base Development at the
Ministry of Finance in Uzbekistan, Aziz was instrumental in
preparing state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and state-owned
banks (SOBs) for both domestic and international IPOs.
significantly contributed to the development of the
country's capital market reform agenda, aimed at integrating
local market with global capital markets.
Additionally, as Deputy Head of Global Financial Markets,
Aziz actively contributed to issuance of sovereign and
corporate Eurobonds totalling over USD 2 billion and was
involved in the development of the Uzbekistan SDG Bond
Framework. His expertise encompasses financial analysis,
valuation (DCF), and the execution and coordination of
debt-related transactions.
Aziz holds a Master’s degree in Global Political Economy
from the University of Sussex and a BSc (Honors) in
Economics with Finance from Westminster International
University in Tashkent. Fluent in Uzbek, English, and
Russian, Aziz brings a global perspective and a deep
understanding of emerging markets to his advisory role at
Finasia Capital.
Sherzod Komilov
Senior ESG/SDG SpecialistSherzod Komilov is a highly skilled finance professional with a diverse background spanning over six years across the private sector, government, and international organizations. His expertise includes debt management (issuance of international and local bonds), investor relations, audit and assurance, and environmental finance. His experience at the State Committee for Investments of the Republic of Uzbekistan as a Junior Specialist in the Department for Cooperation with International Financial Institutions laid a strong foundation in international finance and project management, enhancing his understanding of global financial systems and development initiatives. Building on this experience, Sherzod transitioned to Deloitte & Touche LLC, where he quickly advanced to the position of Senior Auditor. His time at Deloitte further sharpened his analytical and problem-solving skills, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of financial compliance and operational areas. Transitioning to public service, he served as Deputy Head of Division in Debt Management Office at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In this role, he was instrumental in developing local bond market, coordinating international bond issuances and preparation of post-issuance reports. Sherzod holds a BSs in Accounting and Finance with First-Class Honors from Brunel University London and is progressing towards his ACCA qualification. Fluent in English, Russian, and Uzbek.
