Finasia Capital Co-Organizes Comprehensive IPO Teach-In Session for Franklin Templeton, Government Officials, and UzNIF Portfolio Companies
Tashkent— 11–12 September 2025. Finasia Capital, together with STJ Advisors and ScholzVonGleich (the SSF Consortium), organized a comprehensive IPO teach-in series spanning two days for Uzbekistan’s capital markets stakeholders. The longform, technical session on 11 September focused on Franklin Templeton’s UzNIF management team. On 12 September, the Consortium ran two shorter, tailored modules for government officials and UzNIF portfolio companies to align policy, execution, and issuer readiness.
Objectives and Structure
The seminar featured two expert-led sessions focused on the technical and strategic aspects of preparing for a successful IPO. It also served as a platform for open dialogue between SOE executives, regulatory authorities, and capital markets advisors on the next phase of Uzbekistan’s privatization and equity market development.
The agenda covered the full IPO lifecycle — from early-stage investor engagement to post-listing strategy — with an emphasis on real-world lessons and international best practices.

Key Topics Discussed
- Equity story and investment case for international investors.
- IPO design and organizational readiness.
- Early engagement with analysts and institutional investors.
- Syndicate structure to support pricing and allocation.
- Cornerstone and anchor investor strategy.
- Postlisting performance, liquidity, and investor relations.

The seminar for government authorities brought together more than 30 deputy ministers and senior representatives from core ministries and agencies. Participants included the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Digital Technologies, the State Assets Management Agency, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, the National Agency for Perspective Projects, the Ministry of Energy, the Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee, and UzAssets.
In parallel, a dedicated session for portfolio companies attracted more than 50 senior representatives from major state-owned and private enterprises. Attendees included UzAirways, UzAirports, UzRailways, Uzhydroenergo, Regional Power Grids, Hamkorbank, Korzinka, and representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent.

Seminar Materials and Outcomes
Participants were provided with tailored presentation packs prepared by the SSF Consortium, covering the full IPO process—from early investor engagement and analyst presentations to pricing, allocation, stabilization, and post-listing communication. The materials served as a practical roadmap, offering equity story frameworks, syndicate design approaches, and guidance on disclosure and investor-relations strategy for companies preparing to enter the capital markets.
The sessions concluded with open discussions among government officials, portfolio companies, and advisors, fostering alignment on Uzbekistan’s privatization agenda and highlighting the role of IPOs in building transparent, investable enterprises.
